Title: Operations Assistant, Men’s Basketball

Position Summary:

The Operations Assistant for Duke Men’s Basketball will assist with day to day office, travel and team operations. This position will serve in the Department of Athletics and assist the Operations Coordinator and men’s basketball program by performing roles and responsibilities that will help effectively manage the operations of a Division I basketball program in accordance with NCAA, ACC Conference and Duke University policies and procedures. This is a part-time paid position.

Work Performed:

· Assist with scheduling of team activities and individual student-athlete activities

· Assist with any necessary day to day tasks including travel and event planning

· Assist with written communication within the basketball program and any related departmental needs

· Assist with student-manager oversight

· Assist with additional administrative tasks throughout the annual season.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree required

· Experience with a Division I basketball program

· Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage student athletes.

· Experience with administrative tasks

· Effective written and verbal communication

· Knowledge of NCAA rules

· Strong organizational and problem solving skills needed

· The scope of this position requires weekend, evening and possible holiday hours

· Thrive in fast paced environment, possess a keen attention to details, and ability to multi-task

· Lifelong learner, open minded to new ideas and continually seek for new ways to improve your skillset

Anticipated Pay Range:

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $ 18.00 to USD $22.39. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
